It’s about that time of the year to break out your crockpot!
I love crockpot meals, don’t you? You throw everything in and then let the pot and time do all of the work, how lovely 🙂
Although… Can I share a secret with you? I have this “thing” about leaving the house all day and keeping the crockpot on. I know, I know, that’s the whole point of the crockpot, to cook while you’re away! I can hear you yelling at me, it’s just one of my many funny quirks 🙂
Even though I don’t use it for cooking when I’m gone all day, I still get lots of use out of mine. I love using it on the weekends or when I’m just going to be away from home for just a short period. These ideas are even great if you’re having a party and need to keep something warm, like a soup, stew or beverage.
My good friend, Christie, is expecting her first baby (a girl!) this winter and she specifically requested some crock pot meals, so this is for you Christie! Hopefully your little one will sleep long enough in the morning for you to throw everything in and then you can let dinner cook all day and give 100% of your attention to her. You’ll look like a rock star when your husband comes home to a fabulous home cooked dinner and you can just say “oh that, no big deal!” I loved doing this when I was on maternity leave; it made me feel like superwoman!
Here’s a little round up of some tasty crockpot meals I’ve recently found on some of my favorite food blogs. I haven’t tried them yet, but boy do they look good! Let me know if anyone tries them and how they turn out!
