Looking for something to do with your youngsters now that summer’s here? A day trip to Young’s Jersey Dairy might just be what you’re looking for!
I’d heard about Young’s Jersey Dairy for a while, but never made a trip until a few weeks ago! Let me tell you, we had so much fun and will be back again soon!
If you’ve never heard of them, they are a family-friendly farm with something for everyone! While they started off as a dairy farm, they have evolved into so much more and today they have a petting zoo, batting cages, put-put golf, little kids play area, a restaurant and more! If you want to read more about their history, click here!
Our first stop when we arrived was to see the animals! They had lots of goats, a pig and cows! You can purchase food (for 25 cents) to feed the goats, which Emily loved. They had a lot of baby goats inside the barn, two of which looked just day old – too cute!
After seeing the animals, we headed for a few vintage tractors, between the petting zoo and restaurant. Emily loved sitting on the them, pretending to drive and loved how a little bird family had made their home in part of one.
Then we made our way over to the Kiddie Corral. For only $4.50, Emily could play in a bounce house, a corn pit (think sandbox with dried corn instead of sand), a mini put-put area, a slew of John Deer play tractors and a playground with two slides, built with hay bales. Emily could have stayed there all day, but after an hour my stomach was growling and I was ready to eat!
I was really excited to try out the restaurant, followed by the ice cream!! Kevin and I each ordered the Turkey Club and split an order of fries. I shared my meal with Emily and everyone was very happy, plus at under $15.00 it was a steal! You can see their full menu here.
Next onto the ice cream, what I was excited for the moment we arrived. They had so many flavors and options to choose from, not to mention shakes and specialties like apple dumplings (with ice cream of course!) or banana splits! Check out their full food and ice cream menu here! We were a little boring and each chose one scoop on a cone, but it was super tasty! Emily took turns sampling both of ours, but declared my Mint Chocolate Chip Cone her favorite 🙂
After ice cream, it was approaching naptime so we headed home. Over all it was a great morning day trip from Columbus. It clocked in at just about an hour, which is a great length of time for a car ride with Emily. We spent a total of 3 hours there, but could have spent a little while longer if we got there earlier!
If you’re looking for a little day trip for your family, Young’s Jersey Dairy would be a fun one to take! I mean, just look at all of the fun we had 🙂
